Matter residences is a freehold new launch condominium developed by L.K Ang Construction Pte Ltd with a total of 26 units. The project is located at 7 Mattar Road in District 14.
The CSA’s line-up of partners and alliance members reads like a who’s who of the smart home industry. It includes Amazon, Apple, Google, Samsung and others, along with Philips Hue, Switchbot, Tuya, Aqara and more than a dozen others. The list of products Matter will cover is pretty extensive, too — lighting and electrics, locks and security devices, appliances, windows and blinds, and TVs.
You can use existing Zigbee and Z-Wave devices with Matter as long as you have a bridge or hub that supports them. Those bridges and hubs will then connect those devices to the Matter network, says the CSA. You can also upgrade to a device that’s already been made Matter certified via an over-the-air update or by purchasing a new device that has the capability built in. This is the path that Ikea has taken with its new IKEA Smart Hub and LED bulbs, for example.
The devices that Matter will control will communicate wirelessly with each other over Wi-Fi, Thread (a mesh-based protocol) or Ethernet. The devices won’t communicate with the outside world, however, unless you use a controller or device app to connect them to the Internet and the cloud. These controllers or apps can run on iOS, Android or Windows devices and use the voice assistant of your choice. matter residences
