Water Soluble Film Packaging Machine is designed to meet the demand for sustainable packaging materials and thereby reduce environmental impact. This plant-based solution allows the packaging to dissolve in water and break down naturally, without releasing microplastics. It can be used to package a wide range of products currently packaged in non-edible or edible films on General vertical form fill seal machines such as agricultural chemicals, concrete additives, detergents and superabsorbent polymers.
The film can be made from a water-soluble polymer such as polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) or other suitable polymers. In one embodiment, the film includes fully hydrolyzed PVOH in which virtually all of the acetate groups have been converted to alcohol groups. This class of embodiments is particularly useful for packaging applications such as water-soluble packets enclosing hot foods or liquids.
Additional optional ingredients can include plasticizers that are liquid at room temperature, surfactants, compatibilizers and co-film formers, as well as other auxiliary agents and processing agents. The plasticizers can be glycerol, diglycerol, propylene glycol, low molecular weight polyethylenes, or other organic or inorganic molecules having a liquid consistency. Other auxiliary ingredients can include lubricants, release agents, fillers, extenders, cross-linking agents, antiblocking agents, antioxidants and detackifying agents.
The film can also comprise a binder such as starch, carboxylic acids or cellulose compounds, fatty acids, waxes, sterols and other vegetable fats, natural and synthetic oils, and urethanes, among others. The film can further comprise an additive such as a water-soluble flavoring or fragrance. It can also be treated with a surface modifier to improve performance or appearance such as anti-slip, anti-static, lubricity, gloss and printability. Water Soluble Film Packaging Machine
