A Bespoke suit is a garment that is made to your precise measurements from scratch by one of the best tailors in the world. It will take between 8 weeks and 4 months to create your bespoke suit because there are several fittings involved in the process.
During your fittings your professional tailor will take up to 40 measurements of your body. This includes your neck, chest and waist circumference, three different widths of your hips, the length of your sleeve from shoulder to wrist & the inseam (inner thigh to ankle) of your pants. The professional tailor will then sculpt this information into an individual paper pattern that can be cut from your chosen fabric.
The fit of a Bespoke garment is incredibly superior to that of a made-to-measure garment. Made-to-measure garments have the basic modifications to fit a customer’s jacket sleeve & waist, but they do not account for specific details like sleeve angles, posture and shoulder width.
While Bespoke suits do send a message of luxury and affluence that is hard to ignore, they are also designed to be worn for years. It is important to communicate your tailor about the kind of budget that you have available for this investment, so they can recommend alterations and other design choices that will keep your finished Bespoke suit within your budget.
