A federal grand jury in Houston today indicted two wholesale plumbing supply companies and one individual for conspiring to fix prices of a variety of products. The defendants were charged with violating Section 1 of the Sherman Act, which prohibits agreements between competitors to suppress or restrain competition in the sale of certain wholesale plumbing supplies. The defendants are alleged to have engaged in price fixing of cast iron soil pipes and fittings, drains, steel tubs, water saver water closets, gas water heaters, name brand faucets, and plastic and copper fittings.
